Animals.
Everyday it slips our minds that us humans (the homo sapiens species) are not the only animals to inhabit this Earth.
Animals of all species contribute to Earth's and each others existences.
When we say we would be nothing without one another,
we literally mean: we would be NOTHING without one another...
This is why we present to you...

Spring 2011 Events
*TARA Club presents: The Cove
The Cove is a documentary about the slaughter and illegal selling of dolphins in substitute of whales in Japan. The documentary truly exposes animal slaughter in ways no human would imagine. We've concluded, "Dolphins may not have paws, but they don't have voices either. Just like dogs, cats, and rabbits, they don't have the arms and legs to work towards a brighter future; let's be their arms and legs as well."
*Comforters for Cuties Workshop:
St. John's students are encouraged to donate old blankets, towels, old clothing, etc. to T.A.R.A. Club in an effort to support animal shelters. From the old materials donated, students will be making cage comforters in order to make the animal's cages more comfortable. After all cage comforters are made, 50/50 will be split up and sent to two animal shelters in desperate need of supplies: the Animal Center of Queens and the Animal Care and Control. Students are also encouraged to donated canned dog, cat, or rabbit food for the shelter animals. T.A.R.A. Club will also be accepting any donations St. John's students can give.

*Hold “Pet Day” at St. John’s
Just like we have Parent’s Weekend, where parent’s come to visit their kid over a designated weekend, we can extend the invitation to the family pet. This gives students with family pets the opportunity to share their loved furry pet with the other students who don’t have one. It’s a great stress diffuser and will certainly help students get to know each other better. People say dogs are “chick” and “dude” magnets. Well, they can also be “friend” magnets.
